About The Role

The PMC (Production & Materials Control) Manager is a senior plant leader responsible for owning and executing the full Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle within a rapidly ramping wire harness manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role serves as the single point of accountability for translating customer demand and capacity ramp plans into actionable, executable production schedules.

The PMC Manager leads demand planning, pro duction control, material planning, and logistics coordination to ensure alignment between customer requirements and operational capabilities. This role is critical in driving cross-functional synchronization, ensuring that materials, production resources, and logistics processes are fully aligned to support daily and weekly build plans.

By maintaining end-to-end visibility across the planning and execution process, the PMC Manager ensures timely delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient plant operations while supporting the facility’s growth and ramp-up objectives.

What You'll Do

Planning & SOP

  • Own the full S&OP cycle: weekly demand review, supply review, integrated planning, and executive S&OP with Plant Manager and corporate leadership
  • Translate the capacity ramp plan and customer demand into weekly and daily production schedules
  • Maintain the rolling forecast (12–18 month horizon) and align it with the sister plant in China for shared part numbers and intercompany flow.
  • Lead weekly capacity reviews against staffing, equipment, and material availability; flag constraints and drive cross-functional resolution

Production Control

  • Release, manage, and close production orders in SAP Business One (B1); maintain schedule adherence reporting
  • Manage short-term capacity adjustments: line balancing, overtime decisions, shift structure changes, and bottleneck management
  • Own schedule attainment as a daily KPI — escalate misses, drive root cause, and recover the plan
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on routing changes, work center setup, and capacity data in SAP B1
  • Coordinate with Production Manager on daily execution; hand-off accountability between planning (PMC) and execution (Production)

Material Control

  • Own MRP execution in SAP B1; review and act on planned orders, exception messages, and shortage reports
  • Set and maintain inventory policy: safety stock, reorder points, ABC classification, lot sizing, and inventory turns targets
  • Manage the shortage list and expedite process; partner with Procurement on supplier delivery and recovery plans
  • Own line-side material readiness — ensure the warehouse delivers correct kits and components on time
  • Lead cycle counts, inventory accuracy targets (99% ), and physical inventory events alongside the Warehouse Manager

Logistics

  • Own on-time delivery to customer as a daily and monthly KPI
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics on inbound/outbound transportation, freight planning, and supplier delivery performance.
  • Execute outbound shipping schedules, carrier coordination, and customer delivery commitments
  • Execute intercompany flow with the sister plant in China — finished goods, components, and material transfers
  • Assist in maintaining import/export documentation and customs compliance with corporate Trade & Compliance

Leadership & Cross-Functionality

  • Build and develop the PMC team as the plant ramps (planners, schedulers, material coordinators added over time)
  • Lead the daily tier meeting from the planning perspective — schedule attainment, shortages, customer escalations
  • Partner with the sister plant in China on demand planning, supply alignment, and consolidated reporting to corporate
  • Partner with Plant Manager and Plant Controller on monthly operations reviews — variance analysis, capacity utilization, inventory metrics
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based planning models for capacity, headcount, demand, and what-if scenarios

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 7 years experience in production planning, materials management, or supply chain — with 3 years in a leadership or PMC-equivalent role

  • Strong ERP experience in production planning and materials modules (SAP Business One preferred; SAP ECC/S4, Oracle, or equivalent acceptable)
  • Proven track record managing MRP, master scheduling (MPS), and inventory control in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Excel skills: complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, scenario modeling, and capacity/demand model building
  • Experience driving on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and inventory accuracy as daily KPIs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally and push back constructively on Production, Procurement, and Sales

Preferred Experience

  • Direct SAP Business One (B1) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Wire harness, cable assembly, electronics, or automotive manufacturing background
  • Prior startup, greenfield, or plant-ramp experience
  • Experience coordinating with an overseas sister plant, particularly in China

  • Willing and able to travel to China for training and planning alignment
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certification
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience (kanban, pull systems, value stream mapping)
  • Experience with intercompany flow, import/export, and customs compliance
