Volt is immediately hiring a Material Handler in Knoxville, TN 37932

As a Material Handler, you will:

Play a critical role in warehouse and distribution operations by supporting the accurate flow of materials from suppliers to internal and external customers. This role is based onsite in Knoxville, TN and involves hands-on work in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory movement in a fast-paced distribution center environment.

Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack, and prepare all due start-date orders in SO Tools prior to shipping cut-off times
• Accurately select products based on customer orders and established procedures
• Perform serial number scanning, tracking, and system updates using handheld scanners
• Support general distribution center operations including material movement, packing, and unpacking
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas through regular housekeeping
• Follow all workplace safety rules, including proper use of PPE
• Report unsafe conditions and proactively contribute to safety and health improvements

This is a full-time, contract opportunity.

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse systems
• Ability to lift up to 49 lbs. regularly and remain on your feet during an 8?hour shift
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders; bend, kneel, squat, reach, and walk frequently
• Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, stacker lifts, and pallet wrapping equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, including working with remote teams

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or product fulfillment environments
• Previous shipping and receiving experience in manufacturing or distribution operations
• Experience operating powered equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and stacker lifts
• Knowledge of modern pick, pack, and shipping technologies

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour
