Activities Director
Schedule: Full-time (weekend rotations)
Pay: $22.00/HR –$28.00/HR (DOE)

Position Summary
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating a comprehensive Therapeutic Recreation Program that enhances the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. This role is key to creating a vibrant, engaging community where residents feel connected, valued, and fulfilled. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct resident assessments prior to initial Care Plan Conferences; document findings and develop individualized recreation plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and update resident activity plans in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Develop and maintain a monthly activities calendar that reflects residents’ interests and needs
- Communicate programming to residents, families, staff, and volunteers
- Manage and grow the facility’s volunteer program
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress
- Plan and implement a variety of engaging activities that promote socialization, physical health, and cognitive stimulation
- Coordinate and schedule events to ensure a diverse and balanced activity program
- Collaborate with care team members to integrate activities into overall resident care plans
- Supervise and support activity assistants and volunteers
Qualifications
- Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional (Must obtain within 90 days of employment)
- Minimum of two years of experience in a social or recreational program (including one year in a healthcare setting)
- Completion of a state-approved training course
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to pass a background check and reference screening
Preferred Experience
- Experience in activity planning or a related field
- Knowledge of social work practices in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with assisted living, skilled nursing, or memory care environments
- Understanding of dementia care and resident-centered programming
- Experience planning events or group activities
