Treatment Nurse

About the Role:
Volare Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Treatment Nurse to join our dedicated care team at St. Bernard Nursing Facility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resident-focused, and experienced in providing high-quality wound care and treatment services in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and document wound care treatments as ordered by physicians in accordance with facility policies and standards of care.
• Assess skin integrity routinely; identify, report, and document changes in resident condition.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team—including physicians, DON/ADON, nursing staff, therapy, and dietitians—to develop and update individualized care plans.
• Monitor the effectiveness of wound care treatments and recommend updates or interventions as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (PointClickCare experience preferred).
• Maintain infection control protocols and ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on skin care, pressure ulcer prevention, and treatment procedures.
• Participate in wound rounds and quality assurance initiatives related to wound management.
• Support nursing staff with clinical needs as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Current RN or LPN license in the state of Louisiana (required).
• Previous wound care or treatment nurse experience in LTC/SNF strongly preferred.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCA, or similar) is a plus but not required.
• Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
