We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics, and embedded firmware. This is a role responsible for driving the full product lifecycle of small, handheld, electromechanical devices—from architecture to validation, production ramp, and sustaining engineering.
What You’ll Do
Electromechanical System Design & Development
- Architect and develop small, handheld, IoT-enabled electromechanical systems
- Create system-level designs integrating mechanical, electrical, and firmware components
- Prototype, bench test, and iterate designs for performance and manufacturability
- Establish rigorous validation and verification protocols
- Generate detailed engineering documentation (specs, schematics, design files)
3rd Party Engineering & Supplier Leadership
- Serve as the technical lead with outside engineering firms and contract manufacturers
- Conduct deep-dive technical audits to ensure security, durability, and compliance
- Participate in supplier design reviews and technical evaluations
Embedded Systems & Firmware Integration
- Architect, audit, and support embedded firmware (C/C )
- Troubleshoot complex hardware–software interactions
- Support firmware validation, updates, and controlled production releases
- Identify failure points in hardware–software handshakes using DFMEA
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams
- Support customer technical integration efforts
- Lead root cause analysis investigations
- Communicate technical risks, mitigation plans, and project status
Keys To This Opportunity
- 8 years of experience in mechatronics, electromechanical engineering, or embedded systems
- B.S in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Preferred
- Strong background in C/C embedded firmware development
- Deep expertise in DFMEA and proactive failure analysis
- Experience with small or handheld hardware products, ideally IoT-enabled
- Knowledge of environmental testing standards (IP ratings, vibration, thermal cycling)
- Experience supporting products through production ramp and sustaining engineering
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Experience with MES systems, CAD tools, or statistical analysis software
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
