Job Title: Lead Material Handler
Job Summary: The Lead Material Handler will coordinate and supervise the daily operations of material handling activities, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of products and materials. This position leads a team of material handlers, supports warehouse management in enforcing safety and productivity standards, and plays a key role in inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment.
Dust/Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Oversee the loading, unloading, and movement of materials within the facility.
- Assign and monitor daily tasks such as picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
- Ensure materials are stored properly, and inventory is rotated as necessary (FIFO/LIFO)
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Communicate with supervisors, shipping/receiving teams, and other departments to coordinate workflow.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot material or equipment issues and escalate when necessary.
- Provide performance feedback and assist with new hire training and onboarding
- Required Skills/Abilities:

- Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or G.E.D., and zero to four years of previous experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with hi-lo and forklift required
- Physical Demand:
- The physical demands include, but are not limited to:
- Standing & Walking: Frequently required to stand and walk around job sites, warehouses, or
- production areas as needed.
- Sitting: Often sitting at a desk while working on reports, project plans, and communicating with
- stakeholders.
- Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally required to lift and carry materials, documents, or equipment
- weighing up to 15–25 lbs.
- Bending, Stooping & Kneeling: Occasionally required for proper lifting, inspecting job sites, or troubleshooting operational issues.
- Reaching & Handling: Frequent use of hands and arms to operate computers, tools, or other
- equipment.
- Climbing: May require occasional use of ladders or stairs to access different work areas.
- Visual & Auditory Requirements: Must be able to read project documentation, analyze blueprints,
- and effectively communicate in noisy industrial environments.
- Work Environment:
- Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds frequently.
- Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Normal setting for this job is in a material recycling facility. The environment may reflect the weather
- conditions of heat or cold.
- Will be exposed to a physical environment that involves dirt, odors, and noise most of the workday.
- This position requires a balance between office-based responsibilities and on-site collaboration. The ability
- to adapt to varying physical and environmental conditions is essential for success in this role.
