Test Lead

Job Title: Test Lead – End-to-End (QA Practice Lead)

Employment Type: W2 or C2C

Location: Hybrid – Eagan, MN (2 days onsite per week)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to establish and lead an end-to-end QA and testing practice from the ground up. This role is responsible for defining testing standards, selecting tools and frameworks, building the QA team, and implementing modern testing approaches, including automation and AI-enabled test data creation.

The Test Lead will own the overall testing strategy and work closely with engineering leadership and the Release Manager to support reliable and scalable delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Testing Practice & Strategy

• Define and implement QA standards, processes, and methodologies
• Own the end-to-end testing strategy across applications and integrations
• Establish initial test cases and testing processes within the first 90 days
  
  

Tools & Framework Selection

• Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools and frameworks
• Recommend automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
• Assess AI-driven test data creation tools and integrate them into the QA strategy
• Present tooling recommendations, including pros/cons and implementation approach
  
  

Team Leadership

• Assess QA needs and define team structure
• Lead and mentor QA team members as the practice grows
• Establish expectations, workflows, and quality standards
  
  

Test Execution & Coverage

• Lead test case development for functional, integration, and regression testing
• Design and implement an API testing strategy for high-volume integrations
• Support testing of provider systems, billing systems, and related integrations
  
  

Planning & Delivery

• Deliver a detailed 30-day plan outlining testing strategy, tooling decisions, and initial setup
• Collaborate with leadership to align QA priorities with release plans
• Contribute hands-on to testing and automation when needed
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Experience building QA/testing practices from scratch
• Strong knowledge of modern test automation frameworks and tools
• Experience with API and integration testing at scale
• Familiarity with AI-based or automated test data generation approaches
• Leadership experience with the ability to define standards and make decisions
• Experience working in Java-based development environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to present technical recommendations
• Willingness to support hands-on testing efforts when required
