Position Summary

Are you a dynamic leader passionate about social media? Join our agency as a Social Media Manager and lead our social media department! You’ll develop insightful strategies for our clients while guiding a team in social content development and community management. If you're a strategic thinker with experience across key social media platforms, we’d love to connect.

What You’ll Do:

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary social team, including a Community Manager and Content Creators.
• Oversee daily team workflows, ensure deadlines are met, and maintain the quality of all deliverables.
• Provide feedback, development opportunities, and performance evaluations for team members.

Social Strategy & Planning

• Develop comprehensive social media strategies tailored to client goals, audience insights, and industry trends.
• Build editorial calendars, content frameworks, campaign concepts, and platform recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for growth, new tactics, and emerging platforms for clients.

Content Execution & Oversight

• Oversee content creation across static, video, social-first storytelling, and UGC-style assets.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, visual guidelines, and platform best practices.
• Work closely with creative, paid media, and account teams to maintain seamless execution.

Community & Engagement

• Oversee community management workflows and ensure timely, on-brand responses across all channels.
• Implement engagement strategies to increase brand affinity, retention, and conversation quality.
• Monitor and manage social listening practices to inform strategy and reporting.

Performance & Reporting

• Monitor key performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize content.
• Lead monthly/quarterly reporting, distilling analytics into strategic learnings and recommendations.
• Partner with paid media teams to align organic and paid efforts for maximum impact.

Client Management

• Serve as the primary social media point of contact for clients.
• Present strategies, content plans, and reporting to client stakeholders.
• Build trust-based relationships and proactively guide clients toward best practices.

Who You Are:

• 7 to 8 years of social media experience, preferably within an agency setting.
• Proven experience in leading social media teams and managing client accounts.
• Strong understanding of social analytics, reporting tools, and platform algorithms.
• Excellent written communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Expertise across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms.
• Experience with influencer marketing and user-generated content (UGC) development is a plus.
• Bilingual English Spanish-speaking is a plus.

What You’ll Get:

• Full-time salaried position
• Salary pay range: $90,000 - $100,000
• Hybrid position (in-office Mon/Tues/Thurs) - Must live in San Diego
• Office location: 225 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101
