The Food & Beverage Manager on Duty (F&B MOD) plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of Vitense Golfland's food and beverage department, including Babes at Vitense Restaurant, Caddysnacks, Odie's Bar, and the Golf Range. Key Responsibilities
Staff Oversight & Scheduling:
- Oversee daily staffing and scheduling for all F&B locations, including Babes at Vitense restaurant, Odie's Bar, Caddysnacks, and the Golf Range.
- Know who is working in each area during the shift and maintain ongoing communication.
- Collaborate with Facility MODs to make decisions regarding staffing levels and cutting staff during slower periods
- Conduct check-ins with team members throughout the shift to provide coaching, support, and accountability.
- Step in to assist with tasks such as restocking, running food, or jumping behind the bar or counter during high-volume times.
- Support discipline and performance management in conjunction with Facility MODs.
- Deliver ongoing training and real-time coaching to promote staff growth and uphold service standards.
- Lead and assist with the opening and closing of all F&B areas, ensuring that all tasks are completed properly before staff is dismissed.
- Support with end-of-shift responsibilities, including checking staff out by counting drawers and verifying cash handling accuracy.
- Remain on-site until all food and beverage areas are closed and secured for the day.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Toast POS, including back-end functionality.
- Troubleshoot POS issues and make menu adjustments as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
- Maintain in-depth awareness of the full food and beverage menu to answer staff or guest questions, assist with training, and ensure menu accuracy across all platforms.
- Monitor food wait times and quality, addressing delays or inaccuracies promptly.
- Ensure food and drink presentation, order accuracy, and guest satisfaction meet company standards.
- Maintain awareness of kitchen and bar operations, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Maintain awareness of standards of cleanliness and food safety to ensure we follow proper procedures in food handling and preparation.
- Serve as a point of contact for guest concerns, providing prompt and professional resolution to issues.
- Support staff in delivering positive guest interactions and memorable experiences.
- Operational Communication & Reporting:
- Write and submit detailed shift reports to upper management, documenting staffing concerns, guest incidents, operational highlights, and areas for improvement.
- Attend management meetings to discuss operations, staffing, and financial performance.
- Use financial insights to inform daily decisions and identify areas for improvement.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food and beverage, restaurant, bar, or hospitality leadership role (supervisor, lead, or manager).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.
- Experience managing cash handling, POS systems, and basic operational reporting.
- Proven ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and make real-time decisions during high-volume or high-pressure periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members of all ages.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must meet Wisconsin requirements for alcohol service (e.g., responsible beverage server training or ability to obtain).
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience overseeing multiple service outlets (restaurant, bar, quick service, concessions, etc.).
- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale platforms, including administrative or back-end functions.
- Experience collaborating with other managers or MODs in a shared leadership environment.
- Training experience or demonstrated passion for employee development and guest experience improvement.
