We are seeking a high-caliber Shared Living Area Director to lead operations, elevate care standards, and drive strategic growth across our South Dakota Shared Living, Residential, and day service programs.

In this pivotal executive role, you won't just manage programs—you will shape the culture, build inclusive communities, and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to thrive with dignity and independence. Managing multidisciplinary teams, host home partners, and regional budgets, you will serve as the operational backbone of our statewide mission.

How You Will Drive Impact

• Operational & Quality Leadership: Champion regulatory compliance, oversee high-impact Individual Service Plans (ISPs), and execute rigorous site evaluations that guarantee exceptional quality of care.

• Financial Stewardship & Growth: Own regional performance—managing site budgets, optimizing reimbursement models, and driving occupancy growth while minimizing avoidable program discharges.

• Team Development & Partnership: Direct, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of Service & Support Supervisors, Shared Living Coordinators, and Independent Contractor Host Homes.

• Safety & Crisis Management: Establish uncompromising standards for property safety, environmental health, and emergency response, serving as the trusted escalation point for regional operations.

What You Bring to the Role

• Proven Track Record: 5 years of progressive leadership in human services, with preferred expertise in IDD Shared Living / Host Home operations.

• Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred (High School Diploma/GED required).

• Leadership & Mobility: Valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, reliable personal transportation, and willingness to travel regionally across South Dakota.

• Crisis Readiness: Strategic agility to manage on-call escalations and ensure continuous quality care after hours.
