Job Summary:The Human Resources Generalist in a hospital setting supports HR operations while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. This role works closely with clinical and administrative staff to maintain regulatory readiness, manage employee lifecycle processes, and coordinate daily office operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.Key Responsibilities:Human Resources (Hospital-Specific)
- Support the full-cycle recruitment for clinical and non-clinical roles (e.g., nurses, technicians, administrative staff).
- Coordinate onboarding processes, including background checks, health screenings, and orientation for hospital staff.
- Maintain personnel files in compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
- Support employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.
- Assist with monitoring staffing shortages and workforce planning in collaboration with department managers.
- Administer benefits and leave programs (FMLA, Personal Leave of Absence, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with key healthcare regulations and standards such as:
- HIPAA (patient privacy and data security)
- OSHA (workplace safety, exposure control)
- CMS (Medicare/Medicaid conditions of participation)
- The Joint Commission accreditation standards
- Coordinate administrative support for HR and hospital leadership.
- Schedule meetings, trainings, and compliance-related activities.
- Maintain organized documentation for audits, credentialing, and HR files.
- Manage communication between HR and departments (clinical units, HR, administration).
- Oversee office supplies, vendor coordination, and facility-related requests.
- Assist with reporting, data tracking, and HR metrics (turnover, staffing levels).
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong understanding of hospital regulatory requirements and accreditation processes preferred.
- Experience working with HRIS systems and employee licensure credentialing systems.
- Employee Relations and Grievance Experience desired.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure healthcare environment.
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP
- PHR / SPHR
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards strongly preferred
