Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for two Buyer openings. This position is a contract opportunity which is in Middletown, CT and is expected to be a duration of 6 months.

Responsibilities:

Involves a range of responsibilities that are crucial for the procurement and management of materials and services within the aerospace defense sector.

Key responsibilities include:

· Managing Procurement Operations: Overseeing the entire life cycle of procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, parts, and equipment required for aerospace manufacturing and operations.

· Negotiating Contracts: Driving negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

· Cost Analysis: Performing cost analyses and setting benchmarks for quality and cost to ensure cost-effective procurement.

· Supplier Management: Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and managing contracts to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Requirements:

· 1 to 3 years of related experience

· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Related Field or a minimum of three years of procurement experience in the field of government purchasing and a professional certification in the field of supply chain management.

· Broad knowledge of a specialized field such as procurement or materials.

· Requires ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, etc.

· Planning, organizational, verbal/written communication skills needed.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Good oral and written communication skills.
