Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Business Development position. This position is expected to be a direct hire opportunity, and will be on-site in Orlando, FL.
Summary:
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for driving new revenue across the Orlando market. This is not an entry-level seat. We are looking for a well-networked self-starter with a proven track record of building relationships, sourcing opportunities, and closing meaningful business in commercial interiors. The expectation for this role is to drive $3M in annual revenue once ramped, with a compensation package built to reward that level of production.
Job Description:
- Develop and grow a personal book of business across CRE brokers, project managers, architects & designers, general contractors, end-user clients, and trusted advisors
- Source and qualify new opportunities through relationship-building, networking events, referrals, and direct outreach
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle in CORE CRM - from first contact through quoting, project coordination, and close-out
- Conduct site visits, walkthroughs, and showroom presentations
- Collaborate with our design, operations, and installation teams to deliver projects to spec and on time
- Represent Common Sense and Boomerang at industry events and professional groups (BOMA, NAIOP, AIA, IFMA, local chambers)
- Maintain consistent product knowledge across all major furniture categories - seating, workstations, casegoods, lounge, conference, ancillary, and outdoor
- Own client relationships post-install to drive repeat business and referrals
Business Development Representative Requirements:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 5 years of relevant business development, sales, or account management experience - ideally in commercial furniture, CRE, construction, or interior design
- A genuine networker - someone who builds relationships naturally and is already plugged into the Orlando market (or has the chops to plug in fast)
- Self-starter mentality - sets their own pace, manages their own calendar, and does not wait to be told what to do
- Demonstrated track record of consistent revenue production - comfortable being measured against $3M annual targets
- Strong written and verbal communication; polished, professional presence in front of clients
- Active social and professional network across CRE, design, construction, or end-user communities in Central Florida
- Proficient with CRM tools and capable of managing a multi-stage pipeline cleanly
- Willing to travel locally for client meetings, site visits, and industry events
