Position Description
The Inside Sales Representative plays a vital role in building trusted customer and distributor relationships, generating revenue, and maintaining VisionTek’s reputation for fast, reliable, and human service.
This experienced position manages both inbound and outbound sales activity — handling RFQs, entering orders, and proactively engaging distributors, resellers, and end users.
In addition to a competitive base wage, this role includes a monthly commission incentive tied directly to achieving individual and team sales goals. The Inside Sales Rep ensures every interaction reflects VisionTek’s values of responsiveness, accuracy, and care while collaborating with Tek Support, Marketing, and Operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
Sales Support & Quoting
- Receive, log, and respond to RFQs (Requests for Quote) utilizing the CRM, from distributors, resellers, and customers.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes using VisionTek’s MSS, CRM, and ERP (SAGE) system.
- Coordinate with Product and Finance for custom or volume pricing approvals.
- Follow up on sent quotes within 5 business days to drive conversion.
- Provide weekly quote, order, and follow-up summaries to management.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships through phone, email, and CRM engagement.
- Conduct outbound follow-ups to identify reorder, upgrade, and cross-sell opportunities.
- Represent VisionTek’s brand voice — professional, genuine, and supportive — with every communication.
- Collaborate with Tek Support and Marketing to ensure smooth transitions between sales and support.
Performance & Commission
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by management.
- Commission payouts are earned based on individual performance metrics, including quote-to-order conversion and overall revenue contribution.
- Commissions are calculated and paid monthly, reinforcing consistency and alignment with team goals.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation to support commission reporting and forecasting.
Order Management & Coordination
- Enter all incoming purchase orders accurately and ensure pricing, ship windows, and customer data are correct.
- Track shipments and coordinate with warehouse and logistics for on-time delivery.
- Support promotional campaigns, product launches, and special pricing events.
CRM Administration, Use & Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within VisionTek’s CRM system.
- Track and publish activity metrics (quotes sent, follow-ups, conversion rate, sales performance) for the management team.
- Share customer feedback and insights to strengthen overall sales strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Tek Support to ensure seamless handoffs and a positive post-sale experience.
- Work with Marketing to align campaigns, gather testimonials, and improve lead conversion.
- Communicate customer trends and product feedback to the Product team.
- Provide backup support for BVA and VisionTek customer inquiries when needed.
Other duties as assigned with changing business requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of inside sales, account management, or customer service experience required.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with ERP (SAGE preferred) and CRM systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of computer hardware, docking stations, or accessories a plus.
- Dependable, adaptable, and driven by integrity and results.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional collaboration in warehouse, testing, and production areas. Periodically, travel may be required to support on-site customer vendor showcases, trade shows, and events.
Physical Requirements
