Vision IT is seeking an Electronic Information Systems – Systems Administrator to support mission-critical Department of Defense operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and secure operation of enterprise electronic information systems in support of mission requirements.
The Systems Administrator will ensure system availability, performance, and cybersecurity compliance across classified and unclassified environments while supporting DoD operational objectives.

This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and secure operation of enterprise electronic information systems in support of mission requirements.
The Systems Administrator will ensure system availability, performance, and cybersecurity compliance across classified and unclassified environments while supporting DoD operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain enterprise server and system infrastructure
- Administer Windows and/or Linux operating systems in accordance with DoD security standards
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security posture across supported environments
- Apply security patches, updates, and configuration changes in accordance with STIGs and cybersecurity guidance
- Support user account management, access control, and directory services (e.g., Active Directory)
- Perform system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery support activities
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related system issues
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and audit controls
- Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, remediation, and reporting
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel, engineers, and mission stakeholders to support secure system operations
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (must be current and transferable)
- CompTIA Security certification (required and compliant with DoD 8570/8140)
- Experience in systems administration supporting enterprise IT environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory, group policy, and user access management
- Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, STIG compliance, and RMF principles
- Experience with system monitoring, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
- Ability to work onsite full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base
- Experience supporting DoD, Air Force, or Space Force IT environments
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Additional certifications such as CySA , CASP , or Microsoft certifications
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
