Vision IT is seeking an Electronic Information Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Department of Defense operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. This senior-level role provides technical leadership, systems expertise, and operational oversight for electronic information systems supporting mission-critical environments.
The SME will serve as a key technical authority, advising stakeholders on system design, integration, optimization, security compliance, and lifecycle management in accordance with DoD standards and mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical expert for electronic information systems across supported environments
- Provide guidance on system architecture, integration, performance, and sustainment strategies
- Advise leadership and technical teams on best practices for system design, configuration, and optimization
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF requirements, and applicable STIGs
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing systems, infrastructure, and processes
- Support planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts
- Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Review and validate technical documentation, system designs, and operational procedures
- Provide risk assessments and technical input for system authorization and accreditation efforts
- Support incident analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action planning
- Act as a liaison between mission stakeholders, engineering teams, and cybersecurity personnel
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (must be current and transferable)
- CompTIA Security certification (required and compliant with DoD 8570/8140)
- Extensive experience supporting electronic information systems in enterprise or DoD environments
- Strong understanding of system architecture, infrastructure, and lifecycle management
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF and NIST 800-53
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop solutions
- Strong communication skills with ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work onsite full-time at Los Angeles Air Force Base
- Prior experience in Air Force or Space Force operational environments
- Experience in senior systems engineering, enterprise IT architecture, or technical leadership roles
- Familiarity with virtualization, cloud environments, and hybrid infrastructure
- Experience supporting system accreditation or ATO processes
- Additional certifications such as CISSP, CASP , or Microsoft/AWS certifications
- Strong documentation, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills
