Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Cytotechnologist (ASCP-CT) for a full-time role in an inpatient laboratory setting. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of specimens and procedures, making it an excellent opportunity for cytotechnologists looking to expand their professional experience in a supportive environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesExamine and interpret gynecological (ThinPrep) and non-gynecological specimens including bronchial, urine, and body fluids.
Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures, prepare smears, and perform staining techniques.
Participate in on-site evaluations and provide support for procedures requiring rapid assessment.
Ensure proper specimen labeling, identification, and documentation in Meditech EMR.
Maintain quality control and assurance standards to ensure accurate and timely results.
Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.
Licenses/Certifications:
ASCP Cytotechnologist Certification (ASCP-CT) required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of cytotechnology experience in an inpatient lab setting.
First-time travelers welcome.
Required Skills:
Proficient in ThinPrep techniques for gynecological and non-gynecological specimens.
Experience assisting with fine needle aspirations and performing related smears and stains.
Strong understanding of quality control and assurance processes.
