Reporting to the HR Generalist, the HR Specialist supports the ongoing development and execution of human resources initiatives through strong administrative and operational support aligned with business objectives. This role plays a key part in driving the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring employee information is accurately collected, documented, and maintained within the HRIS. The HR Specialist also serves as a resource to employees throughout onboarding and beyond, providing timely support and contributing to a positive employee experience.
This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.
- Own and manage the end-to-end new hire onboarding process, serving as a primary point of contact for candidates and ensuring a smooth, compliant, and positive onboarding experience
- Coordinate and schedule new hire orientations, introductory meetings, and required training sessions
- Create, maintain, and audit employee personnel records and documentation within Viridian’s HRIS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity
- Initiate and track background checks for incoming new hires, partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues as needed
- Support the distribution and communication of HR information to employees, including policies, procedures, and training materials
- Complete employment verification requests accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain and regularly update organizational charts to reflect staffing changes and organizational structure
- Manage new hire and employee swag program
- Collaborate closely with HR and Talent Acquisition team members on cross-functional initiatives and projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, maintaining a high level of professionalism, integrity, and trust within the HR function
- Participate in additional HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned
- 2 years of HR experience
- A bachelor’s degree or HR Certification, such as SHRM-CP or PHR is required
- Ability to exercise good judgement in confidential situations
- Possesses high ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to effectively manage multiple & competing tasks and priorities
- Exceptional collaboration & communication skills, both internally & externally
- Strong analytical & critical thinking abilities
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven mindset of proactive continuous improvement

- The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
