Reporting to the Senior Director Forecasting, Analytics and Market Insights, the Senior Manager, Market Research & Insights will play a pivotal role in informing commercial launch strategy and supporting ongoing brand performance by leading the development and execution of a comprehensive, integrated insights plan. This individual will proactively identify critical business questions, design robust market research strategies to address them, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will ensure insights are embedded within the brand planning process and long-range forecasting, serving as a trusted strategic partner to cross-functional leadership and a key driver of data-informed commercial execution.
This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Design, execute, and oversee qualitative and quantitative primary market research studies (e.g., message testing, positioning, demand study, segmentation, ATU tracking etc)
- Proactively identify critical business questions and define research approaches to inform strategic decisions
- Ensure methodological rigor, statistical validity, and actionable outputs from all research initiatives
- Lead selection and management of vendors, ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget
- Present complex quantitative and qualitative findings in a concise, actionable format to brand teams and senior leadership
- Conduct ongoing assessments of brand performance, both pre- and post-launch, to ensure responsiveness to market dynamics and evolving customer needs
- Synthesize insights from multiple data sources, including market research, claims data, and internal analytics, to develop cohesive narratives and strategic recommendations
- Serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Marketing team, providing objective insights and contributing significantly to the situation analysis in the Brand Planning process
- Contribute key assumptions and insights that inform Long-Range Planning (LRP) and revenue forecasting
- Conduct ad-hoc analytics to monitor brand performance and market dynamics
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred (MBA or related field)), with 5 years of progressive experience in primary market research, market insight and analytics or related roles in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- Experience supporting product launches; rare disease or specialty market experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience leading end-to-end primary research projects.
- Deep expertise in primary market research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) with demonstrated end-to-end project leadership.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience working visualization tools (Tableau).
- Solid understanding of biopharma commercialization, launch planning, brand lifecycle management, and go-to-market strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize disparate data sources into clear, strategic insights.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
