A Project Engineer – Gas Line / Transmission Line is required for a large Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power project north of Austin, Texas. This long-term, field-based W-2 contract role supports EPC execution of the natural gas supply scope, including transmission line and interconnect work, from construction through commissioning.
Responsibilities
Support field execution of the gas transmission line and interconnect scope in coordination with the EPC and pipeline contractors.
Assist with planning, scheduling, and daily coordination of construction activities.
Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to support field execution.
Track progress, quantities, and productivity; support schedule updates and reporting.
Support RFI management, field change documentation, and interface coordination.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and tie-in activities with contractors and inspectors.
Support QA/QC, safety compliance, and environmental requirements for pipeline construction.
Assist with turnover documentation and commissioning readiness for the gas supply system.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of project engineering or field engineering experience on gas transmission, pipeline, or utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting EPC or owner-side execution of gas line or transmission scopes.
- Working knowledge of pipeline construction methods, materials, and testing requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, DOT).
- Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time on site in a field-based construction environment.
