What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Virginia Truck Center?
Our drivers are a primary contact with our customers. This driving position will require the following physical activity:
Essential Functions:
- Able to safely drive a van, straight truck or tractor.
- Regular bending and stooping. Repeatedly during a regular work day. Multiple times hourly (10 to 30 times).
- Able to step up at least 3 steps and pull his or her body up into the truck...
- Able to shift, swivel and turn as needed.
- Able to turn a crank (torque 20 – 30lbs). Repeatedly and multiple times during the day.
- Able to operate a manual transmission. Repeated movement while driving.
- Must be able lift 50 lbs. and drive a truck over short and long distances. No overnight deliveries. All deliveries are within 200 mile radius.
- Keep your van or truck clean inside and out
- Drives truck in a safe manner at all times, always wearing safety belt.
- Report maintenance problems to the manager or supervisor.
- Follow all safety regulations and precautions.
- Perform a Safety Truck Inspection daily as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Qualified driving record.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
- Drug/Alcohol free
- Available to work additional hours as needed.
- Ability to work in all types of weather.
Salary : $20 - $25
