Manager – Warranty & Claims (Manufacturing Operations)

Virginia Transformer Corp. is a rapidly growing, multi-billion-dollar manufacturer of power transformers serving utility, data center, industrial, and renewable energy markets. With over 5,600 employees and a 3X growth trajectory, we are expanding our operational leadership team to support increased demand, quality performance, and customer satisfaction.
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Warranty & Claims to lead the end-to-end warranty and claims process across our manufacturing operations.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for owning, managing, and optimizing the warranty and claims lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution, cost recovery, and continuous improvement across all plants. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing experience, strong analytical capability, and the ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end warranty and claims process, from intake through resolution and recovery
- Evaluate and validate customer claims, ensuring alignment with contractual and quality standards
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions in partnership with Engineering, Quality, and Operations
- Track, manage, and report on claims performance, trends, and financial exposure
- Develop and implement processes to reduce warranty cost and improve product reliability
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely claim resolution and customer communication
- Establish and maintain standardized documentation and reporting systems for claims tracking
- Identify opportunities to recover costs from suppliers or internal process failures
- Support leadership with data-driven insights related to warranty trends and operational improvements
- Lead or support negotiations related to claims resolution, representing the company’s position to achieve favorable business outcomes
Qualifications
- 20 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in heavy industrial or engineered-to-order environments
- Strong background in warranty, claims management, quality, or field service operations
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (RCA, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to professionally represent the company’s position and drive favorable outcomes when business conflicts arise
- Ability to confidently present and defend company perspectives, ensuring alignment with strategic and commercial objectives
- Outgoing, professional demeanor with the ability to build credibility quickly across a diverse group of stakeholders
- Proven ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, high-stakes environments, maintaining composure and sound judgment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

- Role can be based at any major Virginia Transformer location
- ~30% travel required across U.S. manufacturing sites and customer locations
