Position Summary

Virginia Transformer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Rincon, Georgia. Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Plant Manager will have full responsibility for the safety, quality, delivery, productivity, financial performance, and employee engagement of the facility.

The Plant Manager will lead a cross-functional organization including production, manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, materials, planning, EHS, and operations support while driving operational excellence and supporting the company's aggressive growth strategy.

This leader will build a culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for all plant operations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through strong safety leadership and compliance with all OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Drive world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Ensure customer commitments are achieved through effective production planning and execution.
  • Lead daily operations while maintaining long-term strategic focus.

Manufacturing Excellence

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, throughput, capacity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Optimize labor utilization, workflow, and equipment performance.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Lead capital equipment and facility improvement projects.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, engagement, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Mentor supervisors and managers while developing succession plans for key leadership positions.
  • Support recruiting and retention initiatives during continued plant expansion.

Financial Management

  • Manage plant operating budgets and capital expenditures.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and working capital performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other Virginia Transformer facilities to share best practices and standardize operations where appropriate.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 5 years leading a manufacturing plant or large production operation.
  • Experience managing large teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Experience leading change within a growing organization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within transformer, electrical equipment, power systems, heavy industrial manufacturing, metals, fabricated products, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience supporting rapid manufacturing expansion.
  • Multi-site manufacturing leadership experience.

Work Location

This is a full-time, onsite leadership position located in Rincon, Georgia. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
