The AIR lab assistant will organize and maintain well equipped working laboratories for the instruction of HVACR students. Assist in lab hands-on training through the use of test instruments, hand tools, electrical tools, soldering, and brazing equipment. Instruction includes a wide variety of HVACR equipment.
Duties And Tasks
- Maintain a well organized HVAC lab and supervise efficient implementation of labs.
- Ensure proper operation and readiness of equipment for classes.
- Be able to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems as required.
- Maintain and organize tools in WAC lab and WH lab.
- Organize lab processes.
- Assist faculty in laboratory instruction.
- Provide orientation and guidance to new instructors and staff in lab procedures, policies, and familiarization with specific equipment operation.
- Coordinate operational policies and procedures ensuring safety according to federal laws and regulations.
- Order all equipment and supplies and complete reconciling.
- Use basic computer skills to maintain and track inventory of equipment and general supplies.
- Determine when and what equipment needs to be replaced.
- Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief.
- *This position is not eligible for telework.*

- Must possess EPA 608
- Experience in Microsoft office
- Experience working in an HVAC field
