Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking a Custodial Services Worker to perform general housekeeping functions, assisting with special setups, and serving on the college-wide emergency team. The Custodial Service Worker ensures a clean and safe environment within college facilities for students, faculty, and staff to support an appropriate environment conducive to learning.
Although the position is assigned to the Parham Road Campus, the responsibilities of the position are college-wide and the incumbent can be called upon to work anywhere within Reynolds Community College.
This role is considered “Essential Personnel,” and a first responder to inclement weather and other emergencies.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience in commercial, institutional, or similar settings.
- Experience performing routine cleaning tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom sanitation) in large or multi-use facilities.
- Experience with floor care processes, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and/or carpet cleaning.
- Demonstrated use of custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, or auto-scrubbers.
- Documented knowledge or training in safe handling of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, or OSHA-related safety practices.
- Work history demonstrating ability to follow written procedures, checklists, or standard operating guidelines.
- Work experience indicating physical job demands (e.g., lifting, prolonged standing, or similar labor-intensive duties).
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
