Core Responsibilities
- Field Leadership: Manage and mentor a crew of technicians and helpers. Assign daily tasks and ensure work meets VIP Systems' quality standards.
- Installation & Production: Actively participate in the "rough-in" and "trim-out" phases, including pulling cable (Cat6, Fiber, Coax), installing support structures (J-hooks, cable trays), and terminating/testing devices.
- Blueprint Literacy: Read and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) to ensure accurate device placement and pathway routing.
- Reporting: Submit a comprehensive End-of-Week Report to the Project Manager, detailing progress made, obstacles encountered, material needs, and man-hours used.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the crew adheres to all OSHA safety standards and site-specific PPE requirements for a high-rise construction environment.
- Material Management: Track inventory on-site and coordinate with the PM to ensure materials are staged and ready for the following week's work.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of experience in low voltage installation, with at least 1–2 years in a Lead or Foreman capacity. High-rise construction experience is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in structured cabling (Cat6, Fiber Optic) termination and testing.
- Familiarity with security hardware, WAPs, and IDF/MDF rack builds.
- Ability to troubleshoot cable runs and device connectivity.
- Leadership: Strong communication skills and the ability to command respect while maintaining a productive, positive team environment.
- Tools: Must possess a full set of basic hand tools and a reliable vehicle.
