Salary: $85,000–$90,000 Base Up to 10% Annual Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
POSITION OVERVIEW
VIP Executive Search is partnering with an established and growing real estate development organization in Downtown Miami to recruit an experienced Project Accountant – Development / Real Estate.
This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in construction or real estate development who enjoys managing project finances, analyzing financial performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Project Accounting: Monitor project financial performance and review contractor payment applications, subcontractor invoices, and lien waivers.
* Construction Loan Draws: Prepare and submit loan draw packages, coordinate with lenders, and manage funding and payments.
* Financial Reporting: Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end closing.
* Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile multiple bank accounts, monitor cash flow, and identify potential liquidity concerns.
* Accounts Payable: Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and compliance documentation.
* Job Cost Management: Track project budgets, expenditures, and contractual commitments while providing financial analysis.
* Process Improvement: Support accounting efficiencies, reporting improvements, and collaboration across departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
* Construction accounting or real estate development experience strongly preferred.
* Experience with loan draws, job costing, and reconciliations preferred.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
