About the Role:
As the Produce Manager, you will oversee all operations within our Produce department. Your responsibilities will include managing a talented and dedicated group of associates, ensuring the highest quality of fresh produce, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that our produce meets all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and enforce all company policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations, particularly those related to food safety and compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Engage customers with a friendly and helpful attitude, promoting sales and charitable activities.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of department associates, fostering a culture of teamwork and engagement.
- Ensure the Produce Department is well-presented, with properly stocked and rotated merchandise, adhering to company presentation standards.
- Efficiently manage department operations, regulatory compliance, and financial objectives, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet targets.
- Oversee daily operations of the produce department, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Maintain the highest standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating produce items
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in produce management or a related field
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Passion for baking and a keen sense of taste and presentation
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 60 lbs
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Passion for fresh food and customer service
