Job Summary
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in organizing and implementing the athletic program in alignment with the mission and values of Village Christian School. This position assists with conducting practices, developing player skills, supervising student-athletes during competition, and promoting teamwork, discipline, and Christ-centered sportsmanship. The Assistant Coach contributes to a positive team culture while modeling integrity and professionalism on and off the field.
Requirements / Qualifications
A High School Diploma is required. Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the sport, including strategy, skill development, practice organization, and game preparation. CPR/AED and First Aid certification may be required (or obtained prior to the season as directed). Applicants must show strong communication skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to modeling Christian character.
Applicants must submit a completed employment application and resume reflecting educational background and relevant coaching experience. Upon hire, employees must provide documentation verifying authorization to work in the United States (I-9), complete required background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting, and provide proof of education. Additional documentation such as TB clearance, athletic compliance forms, and a signed faith statement may be required in accordance with school policy and CIF regulations.
