Fire Alarm Technician - B-Level
Victory Fire Protection
Location: Greater Philadelphia / South Jersey
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $28–$35 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
Ready for the Next Step in Your Fire Alarm Career?
Victory Fire Protection is expanding its Fire Alarm Division, and we're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician who wants to continue developing their skills and build a long-term career in the fire alarm industry.
Maybe you're already installing commercial fire alarm systems but want more exposure to service and troubleshooting...
...Maybe you're a strong installer who's ready to start programming and commissioning systems...
...Maybe you've been working underneath a Lead Technician and you're ready for someone to start preparing you to become the Lead...
...That's the technician we're looking for!
Victory is building a fire alarm operation where technicians have a defined opportunity to learn, advance and take on greater responsibility as their capabilities grow.
What You'll Do
You'll work on commercial fire alarm installation, service, inspection, testing and troubleshooting throughout the Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey and surrounding markets.
Depending on your experience, you'll work independently and alongside our Lead Technicians on:
- Commercial fire alarm installations
- Fire alarm panel replacements and system upgrades
- Device installation and wiring
- SLC and NAC circuits
- Notification appliance systems
- Power supplies and auxiliary equipment
- Sprinkler monitoring and supervisory devices
- Fire pump monitoring
- Elevator recall and related interfaces
- HVAC shutdown
- Door release and other life-safety interfaces
- System & acceptance testing and commissioning
- Troubleshooting and service
- Fire alarm inspections
Most importantly, we don't want you doing the exact same thing three years from now that you're doing today.
As your abilities grow, we'll work to expand your exposure to troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, project leadership and other advanced fire alarm work.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal B-Level Technician has approximately 2–5 years of fire alarm experience and can perform much of the day-to-day work of the trade with limited supervision.
We're looking for someone with experience in areas such as:
- Commercial fire alarm installation
- Reading fire alarm drawings and wiring diagrams
- Installing and terminating initiating and notification devices
- SLC and NAC wiring
- Fire alarm control panels and remote power supplies
- Troubleshooting basic system conditions
- Testing and inspection
- Sprinkler/fire alarm interfaces
- Using meters and appropriate testing equipment
- Understanding basic NFPA 72 requirements
- Documenting completed work professionally
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
CERTIFICATIONS & SYSTEMS
- NICET certification is preferred but not required for the right candidate. If you've already earned NICET Level I or II, we absolutely want to talk with you.
- If you haven't earned NICET yet but have solid field experience and want to pursue certification, we want to help you get there.
- Experience with Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, NOTIFIER, Potter, Edwards/EST, Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Simplex or similar commercial fire alarm platforms is valuable.
- Strong fundamentals and the ability to learn.
What We're Offering
Our goal is to develop technicians.
For someone with the ability and drive, the career path we're building looks like:
B-Level Technician → Senior Technician → Lead Technician → Field Supervisor
As Victory's Fire Alarm Division grows, we want the people who helped build it to have the opportunity to grow with it.
Why Victory?
We're building something. Our Fire Alarm Division is growing, which means the technicians joining us now have an opportunity to help shape how the department operates rather than simply stepping into a system that's been doing things the same way for 30 years. We want technicians who take pride in their work, want to become better at their trade and want their contribution to matter.
