We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Produce Packer to join our team in Roxbury, MA. The Produce Packer is responsible for sorting, packaging, labeling, and stocking fresh fruits and vegetables in a clean and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Sort, clean, and package fresh produce for display
- Label packages accurately with product names, weights, and sell-by dates
- Refill and rotate produce displays using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method
- Maintain cleanliness of the packing area, tools, and storage coolers
- Follow store guidelines on packaging types, branding, and pricing
- Assist with receiving and unloading produce shipments
- Communicate shortages, overripe produce, or damaged items to supervisors
- Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and store policies
- Support other produce department tasks as needed (e.g., trimming, organizing)
- Experience as a Produce Packer or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
