Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to address client concerns.
- Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their needs, medical history, and treatment goals.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain treatment plans, gather feedback, and ensure comfort throughout sessions.
- Maintain detailed records of client treatments, progress notes, and health information in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Stay current on industry best practices and expand your skill set through ongoing education in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to hygiene standards and following CPR guidelines when necessary.
- Provide excellent patient service by creating a calming atmosphere and fostering positive client relationships that encourage repeat visits.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a Massage Therapist in accordance with local regulations.
- Proven experience in massage therapy with proficiency in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and other modalities.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and pain management techniques to tailor treatments effectively.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and explain procedures clearly.
- Experience working in medical spas or occupational health settings is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and familiarity with medical terminology are required for safety and effective communication.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse clients while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
