What You’ll Do
Safety Programs & Compliance
Partner with the Site Safety Manager to develop, implement, and continuously improve site safety and health programs
Ensure compliance with company standards and federal/state/provincial regulations
Participate in internal audits, inspections, and safety observations, helping drive corrective actions to completion
Own and contribute to sections of the company safety audit process
On-the-Floor Engagement
Spend regular time on the floor building relationships, observing work practices, and identifying risks
Intervene and stop unsafe behaviors or conditions that could harm people or equipment
Collaborate with associates and leaders to reduce injuries, illnesses, and operational risk
Incident Prevention & Investigation
Complete qualified incident investigator training
Lead or support timely, high-quality incident investigations
Identify root causes and help implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
Support serious injury and fatality (SIF) or high-potential incident investigations alongside senior safety leaders
Training & Onboarding
Support safety onboarding for new employees, contractors, and visitors
Help deliver and maintain safety training programs and site-specific orientations
Ensure training materials stay current and compliant with regulatory and company requirements
Safety Leadership & Collaboration
Actively participate—and often lead—on the Joint Health & Safety Committee
Partner with leadership and employees to respond to safety concerns and ideas, ensuring follow‑through
Assist with developing and maintaining written safety procedures (JSAs, SOPs, lockout procedures)
Data, Reporting & Administration
Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, and reporting
Support safety metrics, scorecards, and employee involvement tracking
Handle confidential health and safety information with discretion and professionalism
Professional Development
Create and execute an Individual Development Plan (IDP) with the Site Safety Manager and Safety Liaison
Gain exposure to industrial hygiene programs such as air and noise monitoring, chemical management, and hearing conservation
Serve as the site safety contact when the Safety Manager is unavailable

Strong communication skills with an approachable, empathetic style

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred (Not Required)
Degree or certificate in safety, health, or a related field
CPR and First Aid certification
Familiarity with OSHA regulations
Safety certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional or working toward certification)
What We Offer
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $49,379-$73,998 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
