Work Status Details: REGULAR FULL TIME | 80.00 Hours Every Two Weeks Shift: Days Pay Rate Type: Hourly Location: Cancer Center Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates. Min = $40.82 Mid = $51.03 Max = $61.23 Summary: The Radiation Therapist is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist and following established standards and practices. Observes and reassures patients during treatment and report unusual reactions to physician. The Radiation Therapist Maintains radiation dosage, equipment settings and patients' reactions records and files and uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff. Responsibilities: Administers safe and therapeutic radiation therapy treatments through the accurate and complete treatment set-up as prescribed by the physician and according to regulations and licensing restrictions. Prepares treatment room and equipment for patient according to prescription in regard to immobilization devices, field size, treatment distances, lead protection devices, etc. Demonstrates clinical competence, confidence, and clarity in communications with co-workers and physicians; Observes patient for unusual reactions, events and reports accurate information to appropriate personnel. Maintains knowledge of reimbursement procedures. Captures charges and assures authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy. Ensures equipment is properly maintained and proactively addresses all equipment concerns. Reports any operational problems to leadership and/or medical engineers. Exercises fiscal responsibility by ensuring proper inventory control and prudent uses of existing resources. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
- CERTIFIED RADIATION THERAPY TECH (CTT)
- RADIATION THERAPY (T)
- Zero (0) years or more related experience
