Lead Complex Testing Operations – Execute and oversee functional testing of large capital inspection systems (mobile chassis, diesel platforms, hydraulic boom systems, rail and port cargo scanners) to ensure compliance with engineering specs and safety standards.
Diagnose & Resolve Issues – Identify, troubleshoot, and correct system malfunctions by collaborating directly with engineering and production teams during build and integration phases.
Drive Continuous Improvement – Recommend and implement test process improvements that increase reliability, reduce rework, and enhance throughput across seven production lines.
Ensure Calibration Accuracy – Maintain and verify test equipment calibration to meet required tolerances, ensuring accuracy for high-stakes security applications.
Mentor & Support Team Members – Share expertise with junior test technicians and assemblers, contributing to skill development and cross-training.
Collaborate Across Functions – Serve as a technical liaison between assembly leads, engineering, and quality assurance, providing actionable feedback on design changes and process updates.

Hours & Location
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0700–1500 (core), with flexibility to 1700 if needed; occasional Saturday OT.
Location: Billerica, MA – On-site only.
Team: 46-person production/testing department; mix of assemblers, leads, managers; currently 4 test techs—adding 3 more due to growth.
Overtime: Variable, based on workload and project timelines.
Requirements
- Must have served in U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves or U.S. National Guard.
5 years electromechanical testing experience, ideally on large capital equipment or complex security/inspection systems.
Strong background in calibration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Proficient with engineering change orders and technical documentation.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment with multiple product lines.
U.S. work authorization; able to comply with site access requirements.
