Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electronic and Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electronic and mechanical components into subassemblies and complete computer systems. This includes following precise process documents and Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure the efficient and accurate assembly of various components such as motherboards, processors, RAM, hard drives, and other peripherals.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of computer systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate process improvements and quality efficiencies. Responsibilities:
- Assemble Computer Systems: Assemble electronic and mechanical components into subassemblies and fully functional computer systems according to NA process documents and BOM.
- Component Control: Ensure proper routing of internal cables, apply required labels, and control materials throughout the assembly process.
- Process Adherence: Follow all documented processes and procedures to assemble products correctly and efficiently.
- Documentation: Record pass/fail yield data and document the assembly process for quality control and tracking purposes.
- Inventory Management: Notify the purchasing department and supervisor when components need to be reordered or replenished.
- Identify Issues: Notify supervisor of any issues with the BOM, including wrong items or quantities, and communicate potential changes or updates to the process or procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Communicate inefficiencies and suggest recommendations for process improvements to enhance assembly efficiency and quality.
- Quality Control: Identify and report nonconforming materials/parts and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a computer configuration/assembly environment.
- Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process documents, and BOMs.
- Knowledge of computer systems, components (e.g., motherboards, processors, RAM), and peripherals.
- Experience with assembly processes, including cable routing and labeling.
- Strong communication skills to report assembly inefficiencies, process improvements, and quality issues.
- Ability to identify and handle nonconforming parts and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and continuous improvement principles.
