What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Shift - CNC Operator position at Vestil Manufacturing Corporation?
Production Hours Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm
1st shift- CNC experience required
Responsible for the set up and operation of a CNC machine to produce precision parts, instruments, and finished products
Job Responsibilities:
- Program and operate CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and other machinery to produce metal parts or products
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during machining processes
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for part inspection
- Move fixtures in and out of machines and perform machine setups using hand tools
- Deburr parts using a deburring knife, hand grinder, or buffer
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and blueprints
- Safely operate forklifts and hoists for material handling
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and company policies
- Perform any additional duties as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in CNC programming and machining
- Fork truck operation
- Hoist operation using magnet, clamps, vacuum suction
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges and tape measure)
- Use of calipers, micrometers, squares, and protractors for part inspection
- Computer knowledge of Solidworks and Surfcam
- Pull prints from Solidworks and place into Surfcam
- Ability to read and troubleshoot using blueprints
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to scan and correct errors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and bend, twist, and squat repetitively throughout the workday
- Must be able to bend, twist, squat repetitively throughout work day
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- See and hear within reasonably acceptable limits, this includes the ability to see at a distance and peripherally
- Must be 18 years of age or older
