Vessco Water and its family of companies is a value-added distributor of equipment and services for process, flow control, pumps and
automation/controls related to municipal water/wastewater and industrial customers. We offer a comprehensive product portfolio, value-
added design/engineering and aftermarket parts and services through a variety of businesses in service to customers across the United States.
The Controller is responsible for the overall financial management and accounting operations of three affiliated companies based in Minnesota. This role requires a detail-oriented skillset to partner with the local leadership and work closely with the parent company’s Accounting and FP&A teams in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, analytics, and internal controls. This role must be able to work independently and with the highest level of integrity.
Key Duties & Essential Functions
- Analyze and provide insight into key financial areas, including sales, gross profit margins, operating costs, and working capital.
- Oversees all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepares month end, quarter end, and year-end financial statements.
- Ensure business processes and accounting policies are adhered to and provides ongoing support to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Oversees the use of ERP software to ensure processes are followed and data accuracy is maintained.
- Assists with supporting any audit questions.
- Review and understand upcoming projects (backlog) and pipeline to build short and long-term forecasts.
- Analyzes variances from budget and prior periods, discusses results, provides insight and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Involved in modeling and contracting for larger jobs, ensuring accurate forecast of profitability, and identifying risks in T&Cs.
- Ad hoc analysis and modeling as needed.
- Contributes positively to group culture and employee/customer relationships.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and departments to address evolving business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 7 years of related experience in progressive accounting roles.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Natural curiosity to follow the data to the correct answer.
- Independently motivated.
- Able to cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 (Dependent on experience & qualifications)
