Still Operator

Vesco Oil is looking for a Still Operator to join our Detroit warehouse team. This hands-on role is responsible for operating distillation and recycling equipment, supporting warehouse operations, and helping maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

What You’ll Do

• Operate distillation recycling equipment in the still room
• Load/unload mineral spirits and manage material flow from trucks and containers
• Monitor and inspect equipment during your shift; troubleshoot and make minor repairs as needed
• Pump and package recycled product, ensuring proper labeling and sealing
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the still room and work areas
• Support general warehouse operations including:
  • Loading/unloading trucks
  • Preparing shipments
  • Tagging and tracking materials
  • Operating hi-lo/forklift and pallet jack
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1–3 months of related experience or willingness to learn
• Ability to operate or be trained on forklifts/hi-lo equipment (required)
• Basic math and computer skills
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move/handle drums and materials
• Frequent walking, lifting, and equipment operation throughout the shift
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with noise, equipment, and occasional fumes
