The Sales Engineer / Automation Sales Specialist / Technical Account Manager Role:
- Manage existing and new customer relationships across the assigned territory.
- Engage with customers and prospects to understand their business, products and improvement initiatives.
- Define customer challenges clearly and support the development of suitable automation solutions.
- Identify key stakeholders and understand the decision-making process within each sale.
- Use technical product and application knowledge to solve automation challenges.
- Communicate with customers through web conferences, LinkedIn, phone calls and in-person meetings.
- Attend customer sites for larger projects to evaluate machinery, review applications and present solutions.
- Work in a team-selling environment while actively prospecting for new business and future growth.
Sales Engineer / Automation Sales Specialist / Technical Account Manager Requirements:
- Technical sales experience, ideally within industrial automation or a related technical market.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to sell effectively in both remote and face-to-face situations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-disciplined, proactive and able to work independently.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across sales and technical teams.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer challenges and business drivers.
Desirable Experience:
- 3 to 7 years of related technical sales experience.
- Engineering or Business degree.
- Experience selling into machine builders, manufacturing plants or automation-led environments.
