We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Management Data Specialist (6-month Contract) to support the Buying and Planning team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This temporary position will focus on data cleanup, reconciliation, and administrative support related to purchasing, materials management, and production planning activities.
The role will play a key part in ensuring data accuracy across purchasing and planning systems by assisting with invoice closeout, purchase order cleanup, shop order maintenance, and customer order reconciliation. This position requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage large datasets with a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform invoice closeout and reconciliation to ensure accurate financial and procurement records.
- Support purchase order (PO) cleanup by reviewing open and aged POs and coordinating with internal teams for resolution.
- Conduct shop order cleanup and data maintenance within manufacturing planning systems.
- Review and reconcile customer order data to ensure alignment with production and purchasing records.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data, track discrepancies, and maintain accurate reporting.
- Perform high-volume data entry and validation within internal procurement and ERP systems.
- Work closely with buyers, planners, and supply chain teams to resolve data inconsistencies and improve data accuracy.
- Maintain organized documentation and records for materials management and procurement activities.
- Assist in improving data integrity and overall operational efficiency within the buying/planning and materials management processes.
- 1β3 years of experience in materials management, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or planning support preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (data sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and basic formulas preferred).
- Experience working with ERP or materials planning systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting direct materials purchasing or manufacturing supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with purchase orders, shop orders, materials planning, or invoice reconciliation processes.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar manufacturing planning systems.
