ReInsurance Data Engineer & Reporting Lead

NYC preferred, open to NJ or CT with regular travel to NYC

Full time, permanent

Need to have P&C experience – Treaty and Facultative

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, high-performance solutions that align with business objectives.
• Own data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines for reporting and analytics.
• Run code reviews and enforce best practices for data quality and performance.
• Deliver clean, documented solutions and support enterprise-level reporting needs.
• Build best-in-class ETL/ELT solutions for effective data ingestion and transformation, implementing and managing DBT workflows to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Team Lead experience – this is a must have – both on shore and off shore team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years in the data and analytics space with extensive experience delivering enhanced data and analytics capabilities.
• 8 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data consumption solutions using Azure cloud offerings, including ADLS, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Power BI.
• Expertise in modern data architecture patterns and advanced SQL, preferably using DBT or similar tools. Expertise in data modeling for reporting and analytics.
• 5 years of experience supporting Power BI reporting as an enterprise platform and working within the reinsurance domain.
• 5 years working within the reinsurance domain is necessary for success.
• Experience migrating on-premises data, reporting, and analytics assets to cloud technologies, along with a solid understanding of DevOps, Git integration, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand enterprise level PowerBI
• Advanced SQL needed

Preferred skills:

• Python, Spark, JSON expertise.
• Background in cloud/information security.
