Join our growing IT team in a new full-time role as a Desktop Specialist. In this role, you will provide essential technical support for clinical and administrative staff, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, software, and hardware critical to patient care and facility operations. Hours for this role will be Monday through Friday during normal business hours and an on-call rotation for one week every 5-6 weeks.
Responsibilities include setting up and deploying PCs for new healthcare personnel, installing and maintaining hardware and software, and managing inventory of IT equipment and licenses. You will respond to helpdesk inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems efficiently, escalating more complex cases to appropriate IT staff or vendors.
This position requires excellent communication skills, as you will assist users both in person and remotely, guiding them through problem-solving steps and following up to ensure resolution. You will also document IT procedures, maintain accurate incident records, and contribute to the internal knowledgebase. Flexibility to support other departmental roles as needed is essential.
The ideal candidate will hold an associate’s degree in information technology or a related field, with a solid understanding of both hardware and software systems. Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products is highly preferred. At least two years of relevant IT support experience is strongly preferred, especially in a healthcare setting.
The role requires excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, along with a commitment to outstanding customer service. Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
