- Supervise and support Patient Service Representatives and related staff:
- Assist with recruitment, scheduling, and work assignments
- Develop performance standards and conduct appraisals
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance counseling
- Maintain a friendly, cooperative work environment and communicate regularly about policy changes and Vernon Health updates
- Collaborate with the Director, Revenue Cycle on:
- Policy and procedure development
- Budget preparation and management
- Quality Improvement initiatives
- Ensure accurate and complete patient registrations; follow up on missing billing information
- Oversee switchboard operations and train staff on professional phone etiquette
- Verify insurance benefits, calculate self-pay estimates, and ensure collection of deposits
- Maintain knowledge of managed care contracts and discount arrangements
- Prepare staff schedules and manage coverage for vacations or illness
- Serve as backup for manager duties when needed
- Required:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party reimbursement systems
- Registration or billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficient computer skills and ability to work independently under pressure
- Preferred:
- Associate degree in business or healthcare-related field
- Previous supervisory experience
- EPIC Cadence training (required within 90 days if not already completed)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient inquiries professionally
