JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift to adequately protect the life and property of customers, associates, and the company’s property. In the absence of a Security Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of all Security Associates on assigned shift to ensure the protection of life and property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
- Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
- Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving customers, Associates and/or the facility.
- Escorts and observes customers and Associates to ensure their safety and protection, identifies potential safety hazards and report same to the appropriate individual for proper resolution.
- Becomes familiar with hazardous materials used on property, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations governing same.
- Acts as a Dispatcher during emergency situations, and coordinates solutions to same, informs outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
- Operates company vehicles as directed to do so.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Company’s facilities, as well as special events on property in order to advise customers and fellow Associates of same, whenever possible.
- Ensures safe transportation of company moneys, assists in the opening and closing of the gaming floor.
- Interacts with customers and Associates in a positive, professional manner.
- Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.
- Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age, to ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations.
- Ensures the quality of operations in the Security Department on assigned shift.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence to same throughout the property.
- Protects company assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor.
- Directs the flow of Security Reports to the proper individuals within the company, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
- Advises Security Associates on assigned shift of duties and responsibilities, and ensures that they are completed in a timely, efficient manner.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the Security Department by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Associates, as needed.
- Reviews all Daily Activity Reports and prepares Shift Reports for Director of Security.
- Coordinates with the Surveillance Department when Security discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention.
- Facilitates the flow of information throughout the department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
- Observes, documents, videotapes, and reports any unusual or suspicious activities on property.
- Regularly inspects the premises, identifying potential safety or security hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution.
- Reviews surveillance tapes and reports, providing detailed information to appropriate company officials and outside agencies, as needed.
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Make suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, with regard to possible changes in the policies and procedures of other departments, with the protection of company assets in mind.
- Maintains a series of critical keys, accessing locked areas as necessary.
- Accesses the badge system to activate badges and issue access levels.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of, and experience with, closed circuit television equipment preferred. Minimum of two years in law enforcement, surveillance, or related area required. Must possess excellent observational and communication skills. Must be able to detect any schemes or cheating activity aimed at the company or its’ guests. Valid NYS Security Officer License required.
Salary : $16 - $17
