Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Wholesale Cash & Carry Manager / Lead Cashier to oversee daily front-end operations in a high-volume warehouse wholesale environment. This role is responsible for supervising cashiers, managing checkout operations, assisting wholesale customers, and ensuring accurate and efficient transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support cashiers during daily operations
• Manage checkout lines to ensure fast and efficient customer service
• Handle customer transactions, including large wholesale purchases
• Verify resale permits or business customer information when required
• Assist with returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries
• Balance registers and maintain accurate cash handling procedures
• Train new cashiers and monitor staff performance
• Coordinate with warehouse staff for order assistance and product inquiries
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Assist with opening and closing procedures

Qualifications:

• 2 years of cashier or retail experience required
• Prior supervisory or lead cashier experience preferred
• Grocery, warehouse, or wholesale experience is a plus
• Strong cash handling and POS system experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

Duties

• Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and stock replenishment to ensure product availability and presentation standards are met.
• Lead, train, and supervise retail staff and cashiers to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining high operational standards.
• Manage cashier functions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, ensuring accurate cash handling, pricing, and transaction processing.
• Implement effective inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and optimize stock levels through purchasing, stock rotation, and stocktaking activities.
• Develop sales strategies by analyzing retail sales data, setting targets, and executing promotional campaigns to boost revenue.
• Coordinate shift schedules, monitor employee performance, conduct interviews for hiring new team members, and facilitate ongoing training & development initiatives.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure a positive shopping experience that encourages repeat business.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, store policies, and operational procedures while fostering a team-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven management experience within the retail industry, particularly in wholesale or grocery store environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and communicate managerial expectations clearly.
• Extensive knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, inventory management software, and bookkeeping practices.
• Excellent negotiation skills coupled with experience in purchasing negotiations to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability in employee orientation, training & development to build motivated and skilled teams.
• Proficiency in retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, sales analysis, and financial recordkeeping.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging with customers, staff, vendors, and management alike.
• Experience in supervising retail sales teams within the grocery or wholesale sectors is preferred.
• Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail environments to support promotional initiatives.
• Ability to manage operational aspects such as merchandising, stocking schedules, shift management, and inventory control seamlessly.
