Vermont Learning Collaborative is partnering with Two Rivers Supervisory Union to find a dynamic and experienced special education teacher for their Autism Program.
Two Rivers Supervisory Union is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve in the Autism Program at Ludlow Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position will support students in Pre-K through Grade 2, with a focus on meeting the needs of students with Autism.
This program supports students’ integration into mainstream classroom settings while providing targeted academic instruction, behavioral support, and social-emotional learning to promote success across academic and functional domains. The long-term substitute will work closely with the special education team and related service providers to ensure continuity of instruction and implementation of student plans.
Qualifications:
Valid Vermont teaching license preferred or eligible for VT licensure
Special Education or Early Childhood endorsement strongly preferred
Experience working with students with Autism and developmental differences preferred
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction under the guidance of case managers and special educators.
Implement existing IEP goals, behavior support plans, and instructional programs.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Collect and document student progress data to support ongoing instructional decisions.
Adapt materials and strategies to meet diverse learning profiles.
Support students’ successful participation in general education settings using inclusive practices.
Communicate effectively with families, general education teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals.
