What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist - Per Diem/Part Time/Full time position at Vermont Learning Collaborative?
Welcome to the Vermont Learning Collaborative, a non-profit agency that offers programs and district services to best serve the needs of the students and families of Southeastern Vermont. VTLCis seeking School Psychologist to be part of our regional evaluation team which is responsible for evaluation to determine student eligibility for special education services. The School Psychologist will work with multi-disciplinary teams to administer academic, cognitive, social-emotional, and other relevant assessments. They will provide teams with comprehensive evaluation results that will help to determine special education eligibility and define student learning needs, and support IEP teams to communicate evaluation outcomes with parents/families.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and positive behavior supports is desired. Preferred applicants will have strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as a deep understanding of Vermont special education regulations and corresponding compliance paperwork. A solid understanding of the VT Special Education Rules and Regulations and a deep knowledge of the diagnostic assessment tools are required. Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, ability to translate assessment results into empirically-based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services. Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness. Ability to develop comprehensive evaluation outcomes to determine special education eligibility and define student learning needs.
Ability to support IEP and EPT teams in communicating evaluation outcomes with parents/families. Collaborate with other professionals within the schools Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) as appropriate to support specialized learning outlined in the IEP. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and positive behavior supports. Knowledge and skill in evaluating students with low-incidence disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations for special education regulation compliance. Ability to support and implement District policies, regulations, procedures and administrative directives.
