What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trusts & Estates Paralegal position at Verital Advisory Search?
I’m currently partnering with a well-respected mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago that’s looking to add a Trusts & Estates Paralegal to its growing private client group.
This is a strong opportunity for a trusts & estates paralegal seeking sophisticated work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with excellent work/life balance. The group works closely with high-net-worth individuals and families on estate planning and estate/trust administration matters and has built one of the more established private client practices in the Chicago market.
The role offers hybrid flexibility, around 1300 billable hours, strong long-term stability, and meaningful day-to-day involvement with attorneys and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with estate planning and trust administration matters
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related materials
- Coordinate trust funding and asset transfer documentation
- Prepare probate and trust administration filings and related correspondence
- Assist with the preparation and organization of estate, gift, and fiduciary tax return information including 706, 709, and 1041 materials
Qualifications:
- 3 years of trusts & estates paralegal experience preferred
- Experience with estate planning documents, trust/estate administration, and tax return support responsibilities
- Familiarity with 706, 709, and 1041 processes preferred
- Illinois notary experience is a plus
