We are supporting a growing Chicago-based law firm that is looking to add an Assistant Controller to its finance team. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the accounting close process, improving financial operations, and partnering with firm leadership to support continued growth.
This role offers a mix of hands-on accounting, financial reporting, revenue cycle oversight, and team leadership. What they are looking for:
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes
- Background overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections
- Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulas
- Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is a plus
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
